Final Feedback on 3rd Party Applications
I wanted to pass along a final note from Shannon – "Get to know their databases and how their application access it. Do a lot of testing on a backup copy of the database and when you first start to talk to them, keep in mind how you would be if someone called you up claiming to know your systems. Years don’t equal knowledge and wisdom. It will take time to get to know them and you don’t earn any trust with them by placing blame.
My experience with several vendors is once I worked with them and they got to know me and my legitimate ability, we were able to work together and after a while, they called me for ideas, testing and troubleshooting."

If you’re using the CLR, or if you’re NOT using it, I’d love to hear from you. Next week I’ll be passing along some great discussions about using, (or not) the CLR, straight from our email discussions. Some great points have been made both pro and con.
So, my question to you – if you have an approach either way, please let me know. What have you seen? How are you approaching it?
