What Is Your SQL Server "Day" Like?
I’ve been seeing a shift in what people do in a day-in and day-out basis with SQL Server. Are you?

As people write in, we’ve been getting increasing requests for more "unique" operations – things that aren’t the core administrative things that you do with SQL Server. Those things range from merge replication to breaking down a SQL Server database into a data warehouse and analysis system of databases with automatic updates and the like. More requests for fine-tuning databases, controlling multiple storage locations and working through linked servers and less about setup options and indexing.

Now, that said, the requests for the other things still flow really well… but are you getting the time now to focus on more "unique" issues – and do you have the core administrative work essentially covered?

Drop me a note, let me know what you focus on on a daily basis. I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback.
