New Book Directory
We’ve started a new book directory – and the first entry is a really interesting combo offer – CoDe Magazine and a copy of Pro VS 2005 Reporting Using SQL Server and Crystal Reports – a mouthful, but very cool! Check it out here in the book directory at SSWUG – and we’ll be adding more to this as we go forward – I’ll keep you posted!

About the Show Today
On the show today we have a LOT of information – and several interviews with Microsoft’s technology folks, talking about all sorts of new features coming on the scene this year. These are the final interviews of the group that we completed at DevConnections. They’re really pertinent now as we all look forward to what’s coming with SQL Server 2008, try to figure out what’s important, what’s interesting and what’s, well, "keep for later" stuff. I hope you’ll take a look at the show – and don’t forget that segment selector over on the right side – you can jump to whatever segment you like at any time. Watch it here.

Top 10 Things with SQL Server… Things NOT To Do, That Is
I noticed this article about the top 10 things NOT to do with SQL Server – and I thought I’d throw this out to all of you – what would your top 10 look like? We’ll run this request for a week or so and then I’ll try to cull through everything and get a top 10 list pulled together.

I certainly agree with some of these, but I found myself arguing with myself (it happens a lot, I’m pretty used to that by now) about what I’d put in in place of a few of the items noted. So, please drop me a note – let’s see what we come up with as a group and see if it agrees with, or takes exception with the posted list. All in good fun, of course, but I do think it’s also a great set of ideas for those getting started. Heck, I’ve even had DBAs come and ask me why they needed a WHERE clause on all update or delete statements…
