Wouldn’t It Be Cool?!
Have you been following all of the announcements about the new things coming with the XBox? The new motion-sensitive controllers, new XBox capabilities and such? Very sweet.

All that aside, I was just thinking it would be cool to be able to move things around *database-wise* using gestures while looking at the board. You know, Minority Report style, moving Analysis Services data, connections, references, facts and cubes around, just by pointing. What we call visualizations today may literally be visualizations of data cubes (sorta makes your head hurt though on how to present it, though the XBox is supposed to be 3D capable too).

I think you could do some very intriguing things by visually manipulating data "in the air."

What Versions of SQL Server Are You Supporting?
…that’s our question of the day on the Facebook page – here. So far, *every* entry includes 2-3 versions. I was really surprised by this – most are supporting back to 2000, not a single person is supporting only a single version of SQL Server.

How about you? What versions are you supporting? If 2000, do you worry about getting appropriate support from Microsoft? From your software vendors? I know in nearly every account we’ve talked with that supports 2000, it’s because of the "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it" that we all must work with and not because anyone particularly wants to be back a release or two (or three). Is this the case with you as well?
